From Cologne to Düsseldorf – Continuing the Conversation
After an unforgettable evening on stage at the Ocean Film Tour in Cologne, the journey continued to the next stage: Düsseldorf. This time, it wasn’t a large expo hall – but a cinema. A different setting, a different atmosphere, but the same powerful connection through the ocean.
From One Stage to the Next
While the International Ocean Film Tour in Cologne was already an incredible experience, taking the stage again in Düsseldorf felt like a natural continuation of that journey.
The format remained the same:
Inspiring films
A room full of ocean enthusiasts
And the opportunity to share thoughts on ocean conservation and storytelling
But every city, every audience brings its own energy, and Düsseldorf was no exception.
Speaking About What Matters
Once again, I had the honor of representing the German Ocean Foundation and speaking about something that deeply matters to me: how we can all contribute to protecting our oceans.
Standing in a cinema, in front of so many people who had just watched powerful ocean stories, created a very special moment. You could feel that the audience was already emotionally connected—open to listen, reflect, and engage.
Turning Emotion into Action
Just like in Cologne, the films played a huge role in setting the tone. They inspire, they move, and they make you think.
And that’s exactly where I see our role: To turn that emotion into action. Because protecting the ocean doesn’t stop when the film ends. It continues in the choices we make:
How we travel
How we dive
What we share with others
Even small actions, like contributing to photo ID projects, donating to an NGO or simply telling more honest, respectful ocean stories, can make a real difference.
I was especially happy to reconnect with divers I had previously shared the water with, some of them even spotted me before and after the show, and we had a chance to catch up and chat for a bit.
A Special Kind of Experience
Speaking in Cologne was already something I’ll never forget. But having the chance to do it again in Düsseldorf, in a more intimate cinema setting, made it even more special.
There’s something incredibly powerful about standing in front of a room full of people, talking about something you truly love, and feeling that it resonates. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this tour and to take the stage in multiple cities.
Thank you to everyone who made this possible, and to everyone who listened, felt, and connected.
From Cologne to Düsseldorf, one thing became very clear:
People care about the ocean. And if we keep telling the right stories, creating awareness, and offering ways to take action, we can turn that care into real impact. Because in the end,it’s not just about watching stories about the ocean, it’s about becoming part of its story.
